New Gas Furnace!
Life just keeps going on....in an effort to improve the home environment we (Margaret, my Dad and myself) discussed getting the heat ducts blown out. Well, back in July, my Dad found some holes in a few of the pipes during his inspection (always been thankful for all of Dad's talents as a handy-man, auto repairman and a qualified journeyman electrician - even though his profession was business administration). These obvious safety issues resulted in my need for a new furnace (guess the sixty year old "octopus" furnace's life was finally done). So before we left to the beach we got bids, selected contractors, did major cleaning and prepared (moved, eliminated, and organized) my basement for the removal of this antique oil-burning furnace. And, while "the girls" were away at the beach my father oversaw all of the contracted work (along with all his help with the bids). So, I came home to a beautiful stream-lined new gas furnace with an air cleaner system, and a home with a full-size basement! No gigantic obstruction in the middle of the space...Wow, what a difference!
